Introduction
The Effective Hours Calculator is a web-based tool designed to calculate effective working hours in a day by logging “In” and “Out” times. It also provides a visual pie chart representation of your working hours compared to remaining time.

How to Use the Effective Hours Calculator
Step 1: Open the Tool
- Launch the tool in a modern browser like Chrome or Firefox.
- The interface will display:
- A default row with In and Out fields.
- A + Add Log button to add more logs.
- A Calculate Hours button for calculations.

- In the first row, input your In and Out times:
- Example: Start work at 09:00 and end at 17:00.
- If you need to log additional sessions, click the + Add Log button. This will add a new row for time input.

Step 3: Remove Unnecessary Logs
- If a log is no longer required, click the – button next to the row. This will delete the row instantly.

Step 4: Calculate Total Hours
- After inputting all required logs, click the Calculate Hours button.
- The total working hours will appear at the bottom in the format:
- Effective Hours: Xh Ym (e.g., 6h 45m).

Step 5: View Pie Chart
- A pie chart will display:
- Work Time: Total hours worked.
- Remaining Time: Unused hours in the day.

Error Handling and Validation
- Empty Fields:
- If any In or Out field is left empty, the system will prompt you to fill them.
- Invalid Time Input:
- If In time is later than Out time, an error message will appear to correct the entry.
